Down a body part

I had my big toe toenail removed entirely today. It's a long story, but since I was late-20's, I've had a weird big toe toenail that got more and more mutant looking as time went on. Finally, I went to the podiatrist, who cleaned it up, but said the only real long term solution was a toenailectomy (invented term). So that's what we did. It's gone forever; they also kill the nail root so it will never grow back. I figure I'm down a foreskin, four? wisdom teeth, and one toenail.

I was somewhat dreading this procedure as I had had an ingrown toenail fixed when I was 16 or so. I remember the procedure itself as being painless but the anesthetic shot was horrifying, at least in my 44 years later memory.

In this case, I barely felt any of it. Either this podiatrist is an absolute magician, or I'm older and wiser and less prone to care about such things, or it was a less sensitive spot. Likely a combination of the three.

It's pretty sore now, but I'm 100% determined to keep my running streak up, which is closing in on 1000 days. I will likely have to reduce from my 10k standard though.

It's weird how podiatry isn't covered by MSP. I paid $180 on my Mastercard.
